Hey Guys, It took me a little while to get around to it but I finally got my 350/440 horse motor in my '71 Vega. It sounds and runs great. Thanks for everything. When I get a chance I'll send you a burnout video. With the power the motor makes it doesn't take much to smoke off those 31/18 Mickey's. Thanks again, Steve
![]() Hey guys this is where the engine you built me ended up, it made a real nice marriage and a lot of guys are asking where I got that superb engine. And I was wondering if the decal you stuck on the valve covers if you had big ones like that I'd love one in the rear window. Serge |

Hello Proformance Team,
Thanks a lot for this fine engine. Its arrived just at my 40th Birthday. What a surprise! It looks great! But now there is a lot of work, until my Charger Project is finish. Greetings from Switzerland Andy Oehler
Hello Kim, I'm Keith I bought my 418 about 2 years ago, it has been great, now has 2000 miles on it and 2 sets of rear tires. Very drive-able and the A/C is super cold. It is now backed by a special built AOD transmission and with 4.11 rear gears, it will cruise at 70 MPH at 2200 rpm. I specialize in burnouts and donuts, I will send another video soon, its time for the 3rd set of rear tires so I will burn these off on film. My first video is posted here http://s115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/cathynkeith/ Thanks Keith
On the '57 Chevy, it was 98 degrees outside when I drove the Chevy 120 miles to the Super Chevy show. The temperature NEVER climbed above 160. Idled for an hour in car show traffic in another show and never cleared 165-170. I NEVER felt like the motor would let me down. People are standing in the isles to see/hear this motor. They are walking in front of me to take my (the cars) picture because they hear me coming. I DON'T PULL IN UNNOTICED. I drive this car weekly and the response is great. Looking forward to the next project. By the way, its been 15 months since the Bel Air was done and I drive it weekly (in good weather). I have not reached for a quart of oil yet (aside from normal changes). This motor solved my "old Chevy woes". No more worrying about leaking on my dad's driveway. Thanks for everything. Tom Lucid Warren, NJ tklucid@optonline.net
Doug and Steve, Finally I have some pictures to send you. This is my 73 Mustang convertible after a 2 year restoration with my 420 hp Pro-Formance Unlimited motor. It runs like a top. I only have about 500 miles on it so I am still light on the pedal but so far so good. It sounds good and response is great! I turn a lot of heads. I only wish I would have taken more time on design, maybe more chrome, etc. I have more projects in mind so I'm already thinking of my next motor from you. I hope you post the pictures on your web site. Thanks again! Scott Wilson Saginaw, MI

Hey guys. This is Lenny out here in North Carolina. I know its been a while since we spoke but I wanted to say the motor kicks ASS. I drove the car to Wilmington, NC which is about 140 miles to a place called National Speed and put the car on the Dyno for a complete tune. I have photos on my website the car blew out the damn observation window. I wish I could say it was because of the wicked power of the motor, but it was a stone. In any case, it was funny. The motor is a power house and I appreciate the assist with getting it to me during the installation process. Believe it or not, I just finally got 500 miles on the thing and I plan on getting about 1000 on it then back to the Dyno for a full blown tune on it and data. Again, you guys are the freaking heat I tell everyone about you when they ask about the motor. Thanks again and have a great 4th. Lenny from North Carolina

Doug, Steve, Paul; Can't thank you all enough for helping get the 69 vette on the road....Both my brother and I, who built this car from scratch, found your helpfulness and expertise goes far beyond just building an engine. After your final custom tuning today, the ride home was pure pleasure. As a side note, your contacts and working relationships with other experts such as Sparky help us solve problems that baffled others. Keep up the great work and we will continue to spread the word.. Best regards Dave Hammond President/CEO DLH,Inc.

And they said
it couldn't be done. This beast you
built for me is a genuine ground pounder.
Every show I go to lots of people ask about
this motor. I keep telling them
Proformance Unlimited are the ones to go to!
I thought a tail light guarantee went with
this engine, but guess what, two years
running and no problems. You guys are
the best.

Doug & Steve: Wanted to take a moment and thank you both for the awesome 350 420hp engine you built for my 69 Vette. The motor works like a charm and sounds like a beast.....It is truly a pleasure to work with pros like yourselves. Should be down to see you in about a week or two with the finished project.... Doug; saw the article in the Asbury Park Press about your ride......truly unbelievable..... Thanks, Dave from New Jersey

I want to thank all of you, Steve ,Paul and Doug, for your support and technical knowledge. The engine is more than I expected. Man what a beast! The guy that helped with the work on the car has 25 years of racing and building engines. For not being a blown engine, he said it's definitely insane! He drove the car and said it is unreal! He also said it is an excellent example of people knowing what they are doing. Thanks to all at Pro-Formance Umlimited. I can't thank you folks enough. I will recommend your company to all. Here are a couple of pictures. A video is to follow soon. Ron from Florida

Hey Paul, Doug, Steve!
It’s me Mike Jones! Remember I came from Italy and visited you guys and you built the engine for my mustang! Well it’s been two years of super fun and I lost NO RACES!!!!!!! NONE! Well, Steve sorry
it took so long to get with you on the first
stage of our installation of the Great
Create 383 you guys built for my 34 Ford. It
arrived in the afternoon by UPS and we
unloaded it, the UPS man and pushed it into
my garage. It was like someone spread female
hormones in the neighborhood, before I knew
it all the men in the area picked up the
scent and were drawn to my garage. First it
was the UPS man refusing to leave until I
opened the box, then there were 8 guys
standing around waiting for me to take the
cover off. I suddenly sprung to my tool box
for a box knife but before I got back all my
friends had popped the box top and were all
standing around with a Woodie ""Cheap Male
Viagra" It was a site to behold" we all
stood around this beautiful motor with beer
in hand and wearing sun glasses because the
reflection from the motor caused extensive
glare, a guy can never have to much chrome
or horse power you know, we all conversed
about how it will look and what I should do
to the "34". You guys built one hell of a
motor cant wait to get it into the car and
fire that Baby up for its first run, stay
tuned for the next episode, when the motor
goes in and the pictures begin. In the mean
time I'm going to throw a chain around it
and wear it around my neck " Man Bling" PS.
Steve I talked to a friend of mine Mark
Archer of Camas Wa. About you and he also
ordered a 350 for his ''74 Vet. Still can’t
believe the great job you guys did and what
a work of art

September 5, 2007![]() Steve & Crew Just wanted to drop you guys a line and a HUGE THANK YOU on my 350/420hp motor. This 1966 Chevelle super sport was a 10 second street/strip car. It was my brothers car, then he passed away at age 44, when he died, so did the 472 cu. in. race motor.
My goal was to put the car back on the
street and just have fun with it. So I
turned to Proformance Unlimited for a
turnkey crate motor. All I can say is "WOW".
This motor is so strong! It's a pleasure to
drive on the street. With Hooker 1 5/8" Thanks Proformance Unlimited Rich Yavenue Chicagoland

Doug, Steve, and
Paul After almost a year of showing the GTO around the state I just had to let you guys know that this beast is still purring away and growling at the challengers. A lot has been done to my car since the install, like a Tremec 5 speed and a Dana 60 form strange engineering. I recently picked up the car from the body shop where 4 coats of Inferno Red Crystal Pearl where added. Every show I go to put the plaque out in front to display the goods and every show I go to they all comment on how clean the engine looks and mean it sounds. I guess I've put on about 8k Miles since I installed it and it still has that get out of my way sound! Once again I can't thank you enough for making my dream come true. If you guys ever decide to come west. Call me Joe Novinski South San Francisco, CA

February 18, 2007 Proformance Unlimited, I want to take a few minutes and thank everyone at Proformance Unlimited for their professional dedication on the 350 440HP "high roller" engine that was so skillfully assembled for my 68' Camaro. after getting the engine compartment all ready I dropped the "roller" in and it fired up on the first crank! I really appreciate the staff taking my calls on the questions I have had along the way. I can't wait until spring time so I can get it out and really enjoy the massive horsepower this engine is cranking out. My first small run showed me the potential this car can have; it sure was a major upgrade on the engine that was running in the car before. Again my many thanks to the entire team, what a great job!! Bill Burns Marysville, OH

February 1, 2007 Hello fellows at Proformance Unlimited! Last year, I took my 68' Camaro apart, Replacing about 90% of the interior and had a body shop repaint and repair anything on the body that had any defects. I repainted the car dark blue with a white nose stripe and replaced all the chrome and lights. The 383/450 HP motor I bought from you just put the icing on the cake! The power and sound made my 68' a dream come true. The motor started up as it did on my video. It runs better each time I carry it out for a drive. No adjustments so far. It has been a pleasure dealing with you. John Mayhew Lynch Station, VA

Doug and Steve, I can’t thank you enough for building my 1970 Pontiac 400 with 10.75 to 1 compression, new Edelbrock performer rpm manifold, new Edelbrock 750 carburetor, and speed pro forged pistons. You painted it
the correct Pontiac blue and it arrived
beautifully put together. Thanks for taking
the time to build me exactly what I wanted.
The engine has worked great now for 4 years
or so and has plenty of power(probably
around 400hp). It even held together when I
accidentally revved it to 7000 rpm a couple
of times. That video of it bench revving to
7200 is unreal. I installed back in my 67
GTO and it looks fantastic. It is usually
one of the best looking engines at cruise
nights. I am enclosing some pics for you.
Also, I can’t believe you built such a great
engine with so many new parts for the low
price you charged. It cost me 30% less than
if I had built it in New Orleans including
the shipping both ways By the way, I might
be ready to take another step for even more
power. What would suggest next? I could send
you the heads for porting and swap the cam
for something more radical. The current cam
is an angle with about 228 and a low lift of
.49. It is pretty tame and I would like
something with more of a lope. It is
strictly a street cruiser, so I don’t want
to sacrifice too much drivability. Could you
stroke this engine out for more cubes than
the current 412? Or would you suggest I get
a 455 block and stroke this for monster
torque with great drivability? If I do a 455
I will want to add a turbo at some point
when I can afford it. Glad your business is
doing well. I always recommend your shop to
every single person I meet that needs any
type of performance engine build. You are
the best. No one else will ever build my
engines.Take Care, Dan Harper

Hey Guys !! What an absolute pleasure it has been working with you. The entire process of my motor build, from conception to completion, has been more than I could of hoped. The motor runs flawlessly. I just returned from a small car show in Prairie City, Oregon. The accolades were amazing. Many of the show participants were very imprested with the sound, power and appearance of my new 350/420 for such a fair price. The engine has been a perfect compliment to my car. I want to thank you for all you have done. As the car nears completion, it has been my great pleasure working with all of you. I wish you much success in the new year to come. Warmest Regards, Troy Meeder Bend, Oregon

Doug and Steve, I just wanted to thank you guys for the great 383-510 horse power stroker you built for my 81 pickup. Three days after it arrived, it was in my pickup and I was roasting the tires right out of the garage. I love beating on all the mustangs and Camaro's around town off the light. It was a great relief to me to able to call Steve and ask him question during the build process. Thanks again guys and will be calling to order another engine for my next project. Dear Doug, Steve and Paul, Thanks for custom building my 383-475 stroker engine, and assisting me in picking out my Art Carr 350 transmission, my 3000 stall converter and March Performance serpentine belt system. Everyone in California thought I was crazy for purchasing a custom built engine from the east coast. To be honest, I even had doubts at times myself. Then, Doug, Steve and Paul e-mailed me a video of my engine running. When I heard that baby run I knew I had done the right thing. Before I knew it my new engine was shipped. The day it arrived was like Christmas. The next thing I knew, that engine was in my 64 Chevelle (O BOY)! The first time I started it up, my wife (Lorrie) looked at me and she said she has never seen a smile on my face like that before. As for all my friends in California, well they all want to go for a spin. (Go Figure). My wife is now happy because she says; I’m finely out of her kitchen and back in my garage where I belong! Thanks again Proformance Unlimited for my own personal dragster.

Hey guys, I just wanted to thank you for
everything you guys did for me and building
me my motor. I really appreciate how honest
you guys were throughout the whole process
too. My dad and I finally got it all hooked

beast! People around my neighborhood used to
look at the car as a disgrace, and after all
the hard work my dad and I put into it and
with the help of you guys it's finally
running and looking good. In return I posted
many pictures of the engine and my car on
the website I have it on called "car

so people will know of your guys great work.
I hope it helps bring you guys more
business. You can check out the car on this

guys think.

The temp, never got above180* I enclosed a few pic's let me know what you think. Sincerely, Mike Sheilds

I was able to run the motor and hear
the awesome sound of your
Pro-formance Unlimited Engine.
Let me tell you... it sounds
GREAT!!!! I am still working
on completing the body and paint and
hopefully will have it out on the
road in the next couple months.
Here are a couple pictures one of
the car before I started on it and
one of the motor in the engine
compartment.
Thanks
again for a great engine!

Dear Doug, Steve And Paul, Just wanted to drop you a letter to let you know how much I am enjoying my car after all the hard work you guys did. Not only does the engine sound great but also performs like a champ. I have more power than i feel safe using. I have to admit I was a little nervous when the tow truck came to pick up my 1968 Dodge polara back in January. I only knew your company through what i read and saw on your web site. I was pleasantly surprised when you called to let me know that my car had arrived safely and you did a thorough inspection to make sure that no body or paint damage occurred during transit. As you know, I kept adding more and more work to be done to the car. First it was the engine rebuild, then the drum to disk brake conversion, then the new gas tank and sending unit, then the headers, then the leaf springs, New rear drums and rotors, and finally stall converter and high performance transmission. You handled all my projects with enthusiasm and professionalism. When my son and I came down to New Jersey To "visit" my car, you were fantastic. You gave us the full tour of the shop, showed us my engine and what work was already completed. You guys dropped everything and treated us like "VIP"s. Thank you so much for your help in meeting and exceeding my expectations for my car. I highly recommend you to people I meet at Mopar Clubs and shows. Keep up the great work and I will see soon when i bring in my Z28 for work. Sincerely, Dr. Timothy Rohrs

Hey Guys. How Have You Been? Sorry it has taken so long to contact you but, I wanted to have some solid numbers on the stroker motor I purchased from you last year. Still haven't made it to the dnyo or the track but i can tell you this motor is awesome. I Have finally nailed down the timing and built a killer carb and can no longer get the rear wheels of my 86 Z28 to hook up. Even with all the modifications to the rear suspension and 10.5" wide drag radial the tires break loose in the first three gears of the 700r4. Waiting on my adjustable Torque arm, which should make me hook. I will contact you again when I have some numbers on the car or the motor. Either way, I just want to thank you for building such an awesome motor. This Kind Of Quality Craftsmanship, And honesty are hard to find. I'm glad I took the chance and placed my trust in you guys. Thank You, Ron Maxwell

Bin a while boys, just dropping a note pictures later, is Santa come through, finally got my Biscayne and your motor together. Went to a little Halloween deal at Milan Michigan one pass closed headers stock 350 turbo transmission 3200 stall speed, 225 70 rear tires drove it up and back, 12.92 at 112mph and some change never touched the engine out of the box, nice work. I didn't know Doug or Steve when I choose there company to build my motor, in fact, I didn't know if there even was a
company ,other than what I
seen online, I didn't know.
Why and the hell have a
place 3,000 miles away build it when there
are thousands of places here in
California ?
maybe get burned, ? this is why, I
wanted something different, a motor
different than all my friends, but did I
have to go
clear across the country , no I
didn't but I did anyway.
Was it worth the risk?, you tell
me, I've been smokin my
tires, burnin up the hi-ways
everyday, EVERYDAY! now for
over 3 yrs., other than oil/filters and
tires, I haven't had a thing to do but
drive, drive, drive, that engine, I have
been smilin
and still am smilin, hell yeah, it was
worth the risk California Cary

Hey guys this is
Derek Hagner I bought a 383 Stroker
(Edelbrock special) one of ten in Dec. of 03
and I'm extremely happy with it. You guys
did a great job a matter of fact you have it
posted under your chevy performance
category, it's the one with the yellow block
under main heading. Anyways I wanted to say
thanks for everything, but I have a
question. The engine sets in a 67 Camaro
with a TH 400, 3000 stall, 1 7/8 super comp
headers with 390 gearing and I'm in the 6000
to 6500 rpms and not even down the 1/8 mile,
how far can I safely rev this combo? This
engine was upgraded with keith black pistons
and air gap intake. I've installed a digital
rev limiter to protect the engine but it
sure is pulling when it kicks in at 6500
rpm. If the engine can handle more revs do I
need to upgrade the distributor to something
that can withstand the rpms? Again the
engine is awesome Doug did a great job.
Thanks for all the help and hope the new
shop is going smoothly.

Hey Guy's, On behalf of my dad and i, we would like to thank you for the outstanding motor you built for our 67 Camaro. My dad called you with many questions and you took the time to answer all of them and help us find a motor that would fit our needs. It's Hard to find honest people who will stand by their work. We have received the motor and are very happy with what we have seen. We have not installed it in the car yet, but are very confident that their will be no problems. Once again thank you very much and we will defiantly be sending you pictures of the end result.
Thanks, Chuck & Corey

performance I was looking for. The fact
that you were able to pick-up and drop
off the motor with a fast turn around
made it all the better experience
dealing with your company!
Thanks Again

| Doug and Steve,
I just wanted to write a little E-mail about my engine that you built for me. I love it! It was delivered the way that we had talked about and the way that I wanted it. The service after the sale with you guys is excellent! You will have all of my engine business from now on. I'm also including a picture of my truck that the engine is in. This is my on going project but now the drive train is all done the body is all that is left. I will send you some of the installation after the snow melts from around here. Thanks again. | Doug And Steve, I have been driving around now for about a week and I can certainly say without a doubt that you are a master craftsman. The feel of the engine is incredible, it did not respond this way when it was new. Everything is so tight and neat that I almost feel as if I am driving a new car. The workmanship and the level of detail exhibited in the rebuilding of this engine can only be described as excellent. I want to thank you for a job well done. You can be sure that Performance Unlimited will receive my highest recommendations.

Doug And Steve, The engine looks like a work of art!!! You guys do really nice work!!! The only thing I'm not sure of is the oil pan. I can't completely tell, but is the sump in the front? If so, front lip of the pan where the bolt holes/gasket surface is. I can't really tell from the pictures, so it may actually be the same pan. If you could double check, I'd appreciate it. I don't really want to disturb your fine craftsmanship by having to change out the oil pan if it's not the right one. Besides, my oil pan has a big dent in it. Once again, the engine looks hot!!! I absolutely can't wait to drop it in and fire it up. The hard part will be waiting a few thousand break in miles before opening up the throttle to see what that big boat is gonna do! LOL! Thanks, ED

| Hi Doug and Steve, Just to let you guys know we dropped the motor in our 85 Camaro 2 weeks ago and put a set of SLP headers on it . It sounds fantastic The throttle response is right there. We're still waiting for the trany delivery. The day we fired it up most of my friends came up to our house and were very impressed with what they saw and heard. thanks for your great service (1-1/2 weeks for a complete turn-key set up). I'll send you pictures when the car is complete . Joseph Azzaretto Sr. & Jr. Staten Island N.Y.

| Hay Doug and Steve, The Motor Looks Great Better Than I Expected. I Was Very Impressed With The Fast Turn Around And Service You Guys Provided For Me. After Getting Every Thing Hooked-Up I Pumped The Gas Twice And Turned The Key And She Fired Right Up Just Like You Said It Would. The Engine Sounds Great With A Little Rumble Just Like I Asked For. Thanks, Ken Dennison Long Branch N.J.
